I watched Ladder 49 with Karin tonight and oh my goddness...that was such a sad movie. So I will give you the summery of the movie. A firefighter gets trapped in a burning building and the whole movie is him remembering the past 10 or so years, all while he is trying to dig his way out of the building.
If you plan on seeing the movie stop reading this now. This will ruin it.
All the firefighters are searching for him, and when he is almost dead and finds out that they can’t reach him he tells them that it is too late and to evacuate the building. His wife kept having dreams of the red car pulling up to her house when he didn’t come home to tell her that her husband was killed in a fire. When that red car pulled up to her house and she saw it I nearly lost it. I thought for sure they would find him and pull him out and it would be a happy ending. That had to be the saddest movie I have seen in a long time. It left me feeling very thankful that Jake isn’t in a job where he could be killed everyday.
But, death IS an everyday risk at my job... I mean, Billy sits right next to me, filling the office with his toxic fumes!
