Not quite surfing

Well, we finally tried surfing for the first time yesterday. One of Kat's friends had extra boards so we met them in Lahaina. Only 2 of us could go out at a time since although there were extras there were not enough for everybody. So Kat and I went out first, but before a good wave even came some girl from the surf class that was happening by us swam behind me and lost grip on her board. I saw it coming right at me but couldn't get out of the way fast enough. Her board slammed into the back of my head and knocked me off my board. Other people around saw it hit me and came to make sure I was alright. Kat helped me swim to shore and I was done for the day. Jake was there to help me. He made sure I was ok before he headed out. I was pretty disoriented and dizzy but I don't think there was a concussion or anything. So although my first surfing experience wasn't very good I am anxious to try again but next time we won't do it right next to a class.

Today we got the second rain since I have been here. I was sitting at my desk and from there all I could see was blue sky so when it started to downpour it kinda caught me offgaurd. I ran outside and immediately put the top on the Jeep. I got completely soaked while doing it and by the time I was done it had stopped raining and was blue sky again. That seems to be typical maui weather...it could be nice and sunny and 10 minutes later pouring for 5 minutes then sunny again. It's too weird!

Glad you are okay, how may dots do you see--> . . . if you said 6, see a doctor.

That really sucks!!! Were you embarrassed? I think I would have been pissed off.

I wasn't really embarrassed because I know it wasn't because of me that I got hit. I would have been embarrassed if it were my board that hit someone else. Also I was way to disoriented and spacy to be pissed off.
